Tips for Outings
General Camping Tips:
Tents: Scouts tent in pairs. The troop has 2 -person tents available for scouts to use.
Stay Hydrated: Bring 2 liters of water on all outings. Water bladders are great, but a water bottle is the best. It allows the scout and adult leaders to see how much water is being consumed. This helps prevent dehydration.
Bring a Day Pack: An old school back pack works well for a day pack. Day Packs should include.

Light Rain Gear
Feed Your Scout Before a Trip: A scout should be fed before being dropped off to go on a troop outing. A hungry scout is a grumpy scout.
Shoes: Hiking boots are recommended, but a good pair of tennis shoes will suffice. When possible, pack a second pair of shoes in case one pair gets wet.
Rain gear: Be prepared, always have rain gear. Find something light weight and easy to pack. Keep it in your day pack until needed.
